off and away
from McLeod Ganj at last, for Manali. a good thing too; we've gotten a bit lethargic after being in the same place for so long.
our efforts last week to go across the country met with static. all the trains were booked, but maybe we could get spots through the 'tourist's bureau' in Delhi. and maybe not. the prospect of being stuck in Delhi too horrifying to think of, we're instead going to visit some other places in Himachal Pradesh before we head back next week.
suddenly, this trip's almost over. but there may some lovely places (and photos) in store yet.
in other news, the Dalai Lama got back in town yesterday, and rumor has it he'll give a teaching on the 19th. which could be enough to call us back to this area.
anyway we're sure to stay in Manali at least a day or two, so I reckon you'll hear from me there next.
it's 10hrs to the east of here by bus, and a good stepping stone to some more remote areas.
