today's byte
Today I had a full lunch for a mere 3 euros 50. Pretty good, eh?
And that's about all I've done so far this day, yet it's been very interesting.
In lieu of much more, I'll leave a link to Erica's picture book, where you can click the Italy folder and see a bunch of photos from the dig.

Oh, and I arrived in Catania just fine, and stayed at the hostel where I've been having a nice time. Of note, I managed to communicate in German last night with a fellow from Iran. I didn't know I could do it, and I certainly can't speak more than a handfull of words, but it was encouraging anyhow. Ah, the crazyhectic life of the youth hostel...

Wow, just caught up on your adventures, both of body and heart. You leave just enough out (you said you'd elaborate later...?) to keep one on the edge of one's seat, willing to hear more.
